Four new members, E. Sue
Thompson, R.N., Dennis Diemer, D.V.M., David Phillips, M.D. and Todd Latham
were recently appointed by the DeKalb County Board to three-year terms as
members of the DeKalb County Board of Health. E. Sue Thompson of Malta
serves as Director of Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics, Intensive Care and
Hospital Supervision at Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich. Dennis
Diemer, D.V.M., is a veterinarian at Prairie View Animal Hospital, DeKalb.
Dr. Phillips is a pediatrician at DeKalb Clinic, DeKalb. Todd Latham of
Sandwich is Assistant to the Chair of Leadership, Educational Psychology and
Foundations in the College of Education at Northern Illinois University.
Scott Starkweather of Sycamore
was recently elected president of the DeKalb County Board of Health. Mr.
Starkweather, a bank manager for Castle Bank in Sycamore, has been a member
of the board for three years.
Jean Gastiger, R.N., and N.P.,
was elected as vice president. Gastiger has been a board member for four
years, and is a nurse practitioner for Take Care Health System. Linda K.
Liston, M.D., of DeKalb, was elected secretary.
Other board members include:
Kevin Buick, J.D., a Sycamore attorney the Foster & Buick Law Group, LLC;
John B. Olson, D.D.S. of Shabbona, a dentist practicing in DeKalb; and Jesus
Romero of Sycamore, owner of Taxco Restaurant in Sycamore. Julia Fauci of
DeKalb was appointed as the County Board representative for a second
one-year term.
The DeKalb County Board of Health
